Note-taking during the process of gathering research and information is an important skill to encourage in students, even at a young age. Giving students a graphic organizer like 3 Column-Notes will help to guide their note-taking. At the top of the first column, students can write “Questions I Have…”. At the top of the second column, students can write “Explanations”. At the top of the third column, students can write “My Conclusions/Observations”. Or, the three-columns can be used in any way the teacher thinks is best for their particular learning experience. This graphic organizer is a landscape PDF download that can be used in elementary, middle school, and high school and across subject areas.
