The Synthesis Graphic Organizer equips students to synthesize the new information they are discovering with what they already know to pinpoint their new knowledge gleaned and aha moments discovered. At the top of the first column, students can write down “I already know (schema)”. At the top of the second column, students can write down “My knowledge grew when I read/discovered”. At the top of the final column, students can write, “When I combine my schema with my NEW knowledge, I now think/know”. This would be a powerful exercise to use in a team setting.
